Continuing in the neckwear vein, Necks Tuesday (see what they did there?) will custom make ties for you.  Lookin’ good! Based in NYC.

This may look like your older brother’s gym sweaty from 7th grade, but it’s a new crewneck from Outlier, made of New Zealand Merino wool.  Sweat wicking, warm, soft, all that good stuff.  Also, regarding the construction:

“the dart back shoulder construction with ribbed side panels ensures it moves incredibly well and in style everywhere you travel.”

Check it out in four colors on their site here.  Via Tracko.

Someone bless Freeman’s, mostly for popularizing the classic-modernized-classic Gentlemanly look (as well as providing some of the best barbershop treatments we’ve experienced), but also for this season’s lookbook.  Possibly self-deprecating and definitely hilarious, it hints at urban stereotypes such as the fakerjack and the urban taxidermist while showing off its own range of nice clothing.  Via Prosume.

Valet’s got a wonderfully curated guide for holiday gifts.  They’ve got a slew of items, but also within the ‘Featured Stores’ sidebar they’ve gotten favorite purveyors to assemble their own gift guides.  Quite a good time-waster but you’re sure to find at least something for somebody.  Hint: this guide will be handy even after the holidays.

Cold is here, and we need to address the undershirt.  Typically an A-shirt (wife beater) or a vest if you’re British, and often a T shirt, when it gets colder a longsleeve shirt works best.  The henley is a nice option, as you can vent the neck/chestal region via buttons, but on colder days a crewneck thermal is perfectly welcome.
Wings + Horns has this thermal undershirt, for just such an occasion.  For those of us on a budget, a waffle-material long underwear shirt works just fine too, and costs about $5.  via Selectism.

We all know truly waterproof fabrics are never truly breathable, despite how much a jacket costs or what new tech the makers are touting.  This jacket claims the same spiel, but the cut and shape is just so nice we had to tell you about it.  The makers are Westcomb, out of Vancouver, so at least they’ll get the waterproof part right. It’s got armpit zips as well, so they’ve got the important breathability solved right there. via TWBE.

It may be summer now, but cold will come, that much is guaranteed.  Engineered Garments has on offer a very appealing ‘Irving’ jacket.  Slightly studious, slightly architectural, a little asymmetrical- enough said.  Available through the Stockroom.

After a long draught the likes of which we’ve never inflicted upon your, our dear readers, a slew of Monday updates awaits you.
First up is this classy sweater from APC.  Elbows always blow out on sweaters if there’s a desk or table in your vicinity, and they’ve accommodated this with the addition of low-techest-of-low-tech elbow patches.  Not vegan friendly.

Selectism clued us in to an NYT article about the pants roll.  While indeed they are a bit late in the game to notice this, what we’re wondering is whether well-hemmed pants will eventually outdate and/or replace the pants roll.
If the purpose is to achieve the right length of leg, perhaps.  If the purpose is to not get your bicycle chain caught in your pants, certainly.  Having variable-length pants is quite handy in a place that changes seasons though: we find a bit of increased ventilation with the sudden gap caused by the roll.  We shall see.
