Levi’s has updated their famed commuter line for 2012. The jeans are back with a few more colors, and there are now ‘trousers’ (think chinos in various colors), as well as a vented hoodie and the denim jacket (think Springsteen circa anytime).

For those of you who don’t know, ‘commuter’ in this sense means bike-friendly. Stretch built into the fabric, U-lock pockets, antimicrobial fabric, and other various touches sort of make them turbo pants. We haven’t tried them yet but do plan on getting some into the MLG testing facility.

Gentleman throughout history sometimes have had to fix things, illuminate dark spaces, and be generally helpful. For bonafide workmen this involves a multitool or an entire tool box, but for others it involves tiny tools on keyrings.

Kaufmann Mercantile offers a set of tools they call the EDC kit- pry bar, mini-lighter, tweezers, screwdrivers- that go on your keyring. You can get the entire set, or any of the items individually. via Selectism.

We’re in midwinter, at least those of us in the northern hemisphere, but that doesn’t mean the occasional warm day (or warm season- I’m looking at you, Boston) doesn’t grace our towns. In thinking about spring and summer, these shows come to mind. Minimal look, durable approach (lace covers for skating, cycling, or what-have-you), and contrasting color make for a good foot accessory. Here at M.L.G. headquarters, we’ve got an extensive analytics team running surveys, crunching numbers, and posting surveillance in an effort to better understand our rabid fanbase.
